SOS Lost Accounts

July 2018 Update: Saving Our Sons has been the target of online bullying for a second time. We have lost our second Google account, as the result of a few individuals mass-flagging materials at Saving Our Sons. We are taking steps to raise funding to move all host materials to non-Google domains to ensure this does not happen again, however, the cost of private hosting is significantly more, and the process of moving 11 years worth of material is a very large endeavor. If you benefit from Saving Our Sons and would like to support the work we do - both grassroots, on the ground, with expos, events, and education, and our online presence, please see the SOS Support page. We cannot do this alone.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we re-build once again. During this time there will be photos missing from the website that were housed on our Google account. If there is an article missing images that you wish to share right away, please email SavingSons (at) gmail.com and we will rebuild that article immediately.

Saving Our Sons has recently been the target of online bullying. As a result, our primary Google account, all related email, and some public photos are currently unable to be accessed. If you’ve emailed SOS, recently requested materials from SOS, or were a 2017 Genital Integrity Awareness Week supporter, and you’ve not heard back or received items via mail, please forward or resend your email to SavingSons{at}gmail.com

This also applies to photographers who have sent photos with permission to use; parents who've written with stories or photos to share; guest authors with materials you're interested in publishing at SavingSons.org, those wanting to honor sons in "Our Sons" album, etc.

Thank you for your patience as we work to rebuild, reconnect with everyone, and we are very sorry for this extreme inconvenience.

Note: This also impacts countless photos at SavingSons.org We will be working to replace photos and graphics as quickly as we are able. If you see an article with missing photographs after this week, please email the link to SavingSons{at}gmail.com

Sandra Bullock on 'Penis Facials' - Face Cream from Infant Foreskin

May 17, 2018 Sandra Bullock joined Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show, and as pre-planned talk topics go, she must have chosen to discuss her skin care regimen on national television -- a ritual that includes the injection of ointments made with neonatal foreskin.

In 2010 Bullock, who is not Jewish, circumcised her newly adopted baby boy at home with a mohel, and called it "the greatest moment I have ever had in my life."

Transcript of today's interview is as follows, beginning at Minute 2:45.

Ellen: Okay, let's talk about this facial that you're obsessed with. Did you get the whole cast of Ocean's 8 to do this?

Bullock: Not everybody.

Ellen: Good. Smart move.

Bullock: Just those that I thought would appreciate it.

Ellen: Okay. Explain what it is.

Bullock: Well, it's this way in which one forces - through micro-needling - like a little roller with these...pushes through the skin and ruptures the collagen, and then boosts it. You look like a burn victim for a day, but then it pushes the serum...

Ellen: What are you pushing into the skin?

Bullock: Well, you push in whatever the facialist would like to insert into your pores.

Ellen: But what is it?

Bullock: It is an extraction from a piece of skin, that came from a young person, far, far away, and they somehow figured out how to extract --

Ellen: It is foreskin from a Korean baby. That's what it is. Who comes up with this?

Bullock: I don't think... It's not like I'm lying there with little pieces all over my face.

Ellen: Who thinks of collecting it and having it for -- "we'll do something with this someday..."

Bullock: And why didn't we come up with that?

Ellen: You'd be rich.

Bullock: So, I call it the penis facial. And I think when you see how good it is to your face, you too will run to your local facialist and say, "Give me the penis." It's going to happen. That's what you're going to say.

Ellen: I'm never going to say that. I'm never going to say that. It's never going to come out of my mouth.

Bullock: How about you just...maybe just make it smaller...

Ellen: No. I don't even understand why that is a thing that you'd put into your skin. Why do you want that? You know what's going to happen? Penises are going to start growing out of you... You're going to have little tiny-- That's what karma is going to do. You're going to have tiny, baby, Korean penises...

Bullock: Little penises. I'm here going, "let it not be a whisker or a peen." Okay, we're all good. Well, so be it. So be it.

Ellen: If I must have Korean penises growing out of my...

Bullock: It was worth it. It was worth it. We're going straight to hell. Straight to hell.

Ellen: I'm not. I didn't do it. You are.

Bullock: Yeah. I'm going to get backstage and Laila's going to go, "Mama, why's there a penis on your face?"

Laughter.

Healthy Newborn Baby's Life at Risk Post Circumcision Blood Loss

Author's name removed for the sake of family's privacy. Shared with permission.

Almost 4 years ago we went through the most horrifying day.

We took our son to have him circumcised. As they took him back, we were told we had to wait in the waiting room. We waited for what seemed forever... Finally, they brought him out, wrapped in his blanket. We put him in his car seat, and headed home.

Upon getting home and proceeding to take him out of his car seat, we noticed the car seat had blood all over the bottom, and all over his blanket. Immediately, we got him out to look, only to find blood coming out of his diaper, all over his legs. We removed his diaper, and he was full of blood, with continuous bleeding from his penis.

We hurried in a panic to put another diaper on him, and jumped back into the vehicle to head to another hospital.

They immediately took him back.

The doctor entered in to find that a blood [vein] had been cut during circumcision. By this time he has went through 3 diapers of blood, and was running a 101 degree fever, and he was not very alert. The doctor tried 5 times before finally getting the blood [vein] to clot and quit bleeding, only then to notice the circumcision wasn't even 'complete' or done properly.

He called the other hospital and demanded they have someone come look at what had been done at their facility. My son ended up needing the circumcision completed and three stitches on the top of his penis to fix what was 'botched.'

I will never forget the doctor telling the other doctor from the hospital where my son was circumcised, "Whoever did this, botched this baby..." I was so angry, upset and confused. Still to this day nobody had to pay for the responsibilities of what happened to my son, and he is forever scarred on his penis.

Please consider this when making a decision. The diaper photo on the right above was after they got the bleeding almost to a stopping point.

Daily we struggle with wonder about whether this will cause him insecurity, or if he will have trouble with erections later in life...

Veins and arteries most at risk of being severed during infant circumcision. A newborn baby only needs to lose 1 ounce of blood to hemorrhage, and 2.3 ounces of blood to die. This is not a risk most parents today wish to take. There are no risks in keeping babies intact.

Iceland to Ban Infant Circumcision, Introduces 6-year Jail Term for Offenders

As reported by the Truth Command

While many Americans may be circumcised, largely as a result of the prevalent Judeo-Christian tradition in the country, that isn’t the case everywhere else. And if a new law passes in Iceland, circumcisions in the country will become not just rare, but illegal.

A new proposed legislative amendment would ban the practice of childhood circumcision, making circumcision of a child illegal, and punishable by up to six years of prison time. The bill, which is supported by members from at least five different political parties (including, among others, the Pirate Party, the Left Green, and the Progressive Party), calls for amendments to the current criminal code in the country.

In fact, the proposed legislation clearly states “[Anyone found] removing sexual organs [from any child or woman], in whole or in part, shall be jailed for six years.” And unlike many health and public safety laws in the United States, there isn’t an exemption on religious grounds, as the draft makes clear. As the draft notes “While it is certainly the rights of the parents to give their children guidance when it comes to religion, such a right can never exceed the rights of the child.”

This is part of a growing trend in Europe, as Danish doctors have recently also spoken out against childhood circumcision. As the bill notes, “Circumcision involves permanent interventions into a child’s body that can cause severe pain, also such an operation involves a risk of infections and other problems.” As a result, the bill states that while the child may eventually decide they want to be circumcised, they cannot do so until the age of consent, “to understand what is involved in such action.” In Iceland, the age of consent is 15.

While the rate of circumcision in Iceland is currently rather low, it is not unheard of, and there is still some debate surrounding the issue—and not just in Iceland. In addition to Danish doctors who have previously spoken out against circumcision, there is also a movement underway in Norway, as the Progress Party (FrP)—the country’s third-largest party, and more commonly known for their anti-immigration policies—chose to support a bill outlawing childhood circumcision before age 16.

While it remains to be seen if the bill in Iceland can pass, there’s certainly some momentum behind it.

Baby Center Intact Discrepancy

In looking at the various definitions and descriptions of circumcision, the foreskin, and risks of forced infant genital cutting, a bold discrepancy exists between BabyCenter in the U.S. and BabyCentre in the U.K.

When examining the functions of the foreskin, and the reason this body organ exists on all mammals born on earth, one may be wise to look at information coming out of intact nations, vs. those that have deep roots in myth-based cultural practices of amputating organs without medical necessity.

College of Nurse-Midwives Annual Meeting Intact Exposition Booth

Please support and join us at the American College of Nurse-Midwives Annual Meeting and Exhibition as we host a public intact education booth outside the Savannah Convention Center!

This is the largest event of its kind for nurse-midwives, who work hand-in-hand with expecting mothers across the nation, and play a pivotal role in influencing parents deciding whether or not to keep their babies intact.

In addition, on May 20th, between 1-5pm, the workshop titled, "Elective Newborn Circumcision: Skills for Nurse Midwives" will be presented to teach nurse-midwives how to become involved in infant genital cutting using Gomco and Mogen clamps. Organizer, Michelle Drew, writes, "The purpose of this session is to provide didactic education and hands on simulation on the risks benefits and alternatives to male circumcision; how to provide informed consent and practice on performing the procedure for newborn male circumcision using both the Gomco and Mogen clamps." View workshop: http://annualmeeting.midwife.org/schedule/elective-newborn-circumcision-skills-for-nurse-midwives/

We were offered the option to host a booth inside the convention center during this event ($2600/week), however, as with health expositions in the past, we know from experience that the ability exists to reach *far more* people outside the venue, on public grounds, than inside, and for half the cost. By establishing a professional intact booth outside, we are able to speak with all nurse-midwives coming and going from the convention, as well as organizers and attendees for other exhibitions taking place this week, speak with news media, and have the added power-packed benefit of reaching the masses of commuters walking and driving by the convention center each day.

Our location will be in place Day One of the conference to greet people as they arrive for the kick-off to the weekend. We will have materials that closely fit the field of nurse-midwifery, the theme of the conference, and those that local birth centers have chosen to use as their hand-outs for parents over the past 5 years. We would also like to raise the funds needed ($375/person) to have at least one SOS representative inside the May 20th presentation on elective circumcision training.

In addition, we will have the SOS Odyssey traveling billboards across the street for added exposure to the message, in a fashion that is positive, pro-intact, and proactive.

If you have a heart for professional education, please join us any or all days in Savannah, and support generously as you are able. All clinical booth hosts will be traveling by plane from out-of-state to attend this event, and are in need of a local accommodations as well. We expect to give materials out to approximately 300/day given our experience at past (similar) venues of this size, and would like all our items to be top-notch and professionally produced.

Four New Traveling Billboards

We are nearing Genital Integrity Awareness Week, and the start of a spring season that will hold many SOS Odyssey dates, as well as numerous rallies and events in other formats. To fill in the gap and meet the positive, pro-intact, awareness raising need, there are four new traveling billboards we would like to have made.

Each will be high quality, extra durable/thick, outdoor vinyl that stands up very well to weathering and lasts many years. They are made with vibrant high colors for visibility a far distance off, and built with metal grommets and solid detachable framework. This allows them to be borrowed by intactivists across the nation, and travel well to a large variety of events. Each costs $150 total to be professionally produced with all materials, and will be seen by hundreds of thousands of Americans this year -- starting with the SOS Odyssey: Delaware, moving onto the Hospital of Central Connecticut, and then to Washington D.C. and beyond.

Please help us get these into production! We will update below each one, and have it sent in as soon as funds are raised. Each contributor will be named on the back side of the traveling billboard that you give toward. Click the banner image to give, or if you prefer to donate without PayPal taking a percentage, send via "friends/family" to SavingSons@gmail.com with a note about how you'd like your gift allocated.

Thank you for helping make these giant banners a reality!
